Volunteer
Opportunities
Each of these volunteer
opportunities is very important to the ministry
of this congregation. Pick one or two you think
you might like, or jump out of your box, be
brave, and pick one you’re not sure you’ll like.
But, pick one and go for it. We will explain
duties, we will support you, and we will cheer
you on.Sunday morning
quickies:
- Be a greeter at one
service (1/2 hour of your time)
- Be a repeat greeter at
one service (20 minutes of your time because
you know the ropes by now)
- Usher (15 min)
- Help sell books at the
Book Sale once in a while (1 hr between
services)
- Bring goodies with a
friend for a coffee hour. (baking or buying
time)
- Make coffee. (1/2 hour,
instructions provided)
- Bring flowers as a
memorial to ___________. This memorial can
be printed in the Order of Service.
- Be an R.E. class helper
once in a while (1 hour of your time)
Other quickies:
- Help with fellowship
events (potluck set up, clean up, etc.)
- Answer phones in the
office for 2 hours of an afternoon
- Caring Committee helper
(give a ride, make a casserole, etc.)
- Sell goodies at
Coffeehouse (2 hours)
- Bring goodies for a
Coffeehouse (baking / buying time)
- Help with the Blood Drive
- Videotape educational TV
shows for Our House Youth Home
- Be a chaperone for a
Youth Ministry Council event
- Staff the Chalice
Lighters table in October
- Be a YRUU guest teacher
for teen interests
If you’re ready for more
responsibility:
- Look into Sunday Forum
topics and speakers
- Coordinate refreshments
for the Chalice Concert Series 4x / year. (a
pair of free tickets for each concert!)
- Be a hero(ine). Teach an
R.E. class starting October 2006!
- Be the Fundraising
Coordinator
- Help with Entertainment
Book publicity and marketing Oct – Jan
- Be on the New Member
committee (help us help them)
- Be on the Adult R.E.
Program Committee
- Maintain New Member photo
display board
- Canvass co-chair for this
coming year (we already have someone for you
to work with)
